Abstract Nowadays, Web-based surveys directed to the public have been more and
more common. In such studies the problems with noncoverage are apparent. This
paper is a brief summary of the problems, a discussion of suitable weighting methods
and an attempt to interpret the actual research front. Further, some suggestions for
future research are proposed.
