Web Survey Bibliography
In web-based surveys it is important to optimize the response rate and quality. This paper integrates lessons from six web-based experiments about the putative effectiveness of donations to charitable organizations as an incentive. The donation incentive did not produce significantly greater response and retention rates than obtained in the no-incentive control groups. On the contrary, the metaanalytic integration of the experiments revealed that the donation had a detrimental effect on response, but not on retention.
