Web Survey Bibliography
National readership surveys are among the largest and most expensive surveys. Due to specific reasons they are also among the rare remaining ones that still rely on probability samples. Nevertheless, the pressure to move to the Internet is increasingly growing. We first discuss some general trends and conditions of this transition. Next, we present the case of the Netherlands, the country with one of the highest Internet penetrations in EU and also the country with extremely high inclination to use Internet panels. Finally, we present the case of Slovenia, which is a median EU country with respect to the Internet developments. A study was conducted to help decide whether and how to move the national readership survey to Internet panel data collection. A full spectrum of methodological dilemmas related to this decision is illustrated and elaborated.
