Abstract

A survey is a powerful and useful method for various research purposes. The traditional forms of survey methods are face-to-face interviews, telephone interviews and mail surveys. In order to reduce survey expenses, workload efforts, and enhance the speed of survey collection and analysis, this thesis develops a practical, convenient and reliable web-based survey tool for small businesses and non-profit organizations. The Web-Based Survey Tool (WBST) can be used to create new surveys and post them on the web. It has various user roles such that survey developers can create and update surveys, survey statisticians can view and analyze survey results, and survey respondents can take surveys and view the results if they are given the permission by survey developers.
