Abstract

For many years, researchers have assumed that respondent “engagement” in a research experience is likely a factor in the research outcome. But difficulties in defining, measuring and predicting engagement have made it somewhat of a “back burner” issue. Recently, the need to manage all facets of the research process that may affect data quality has brought this issue back into the limelight.
