Abstract The proportion of households in Europe with access to interactive services through television is growing rapidly and is expected to outstrip Internet penetration by 2005. This presentation examines the potential use of interactive television as a data collection tool and looks at the success of the approach in early project work. It is still early days but there are some signs that this tool may be an effective complement or could even surpass Internet data collection in the medium term.
