Title How To Ensure the Accuracy Of Internet Research
Year 2001
Access date 20.04.2004
Abstract Harris Interactive predicted the US election outcome with 99% accuracy. These internet-only results outperformed every survey conducted by telephone and the state by state forecasts were almost twice as accurate as comparable phone forecasts. George attributes part of the success of Harris’ internet polling to the use of propensity score adjustment, a statistical substitute for probability sampling. In this session he will discuss how sampling issues can be overcome and why the internet may be more representative and accurate than traditional methodologies.
