Web Survey Bibliography
A single, Web-based survey was developed for data collection in three modes – self-administration and telephone and in-person interviewing – as part of the final follow-up survey for the 1993 Baccalaureate and Beyond Longitudinal Study (B&B), a 10-year longitudinal study being conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), U.S. Department of Education. Prior to the full-scale follow-up survey, a field test was conducted with a comparable sample of 925 baccalaureate recipients to evaluate procedures and methods to be used in the main study. This paper assesses the feasibility of a one-instrument approach to multi-mode data collection by examining the quality and completeness of the data, including cross-mode comparisons of indeterminacy rates, timing, and the use of on-line help text and coding systems.
