Name Data Mining and its Applications in Market Research and Statistics
Organized by Association for Survey Computing (ASC)
Where

Imperial College, London, UK

From 21.04.2009
To 21.04.2009
Description

The conference will explore the topic from three perspectives: what the DM community thinks it has to offer (the computer science view), what statisticians think of DM methods and can offer as complement or alternative, and what applications (current or potential) are around for surveys and market research

We will be looking at the uses of Data Mining in Market Research and the Statistical approach by examining topics such as:

  • Identifying Fraudulent Panel Members - and how their behaviour is evolving.
  • Combining legacy data from multiple surveys
  • Delivering Data Mining techniques throughout an enterprise
  • Merging data from multiple, discrete surveys.
  • On-line analysis of massive data sets - large, complex and dynamic
  • Image Mining
  • Multi-Agent Data Mining
  • Web-Site Mining
  • Spatial Temporal Mining
  • Data Mining support for Argumentation
  • Graph Mining
  • Issues with Automation Rule Mining
  • Social Network Analysis
  • Exploratory Data Analysis techniques
  • Forward Search Clustering and estimating the number of clusters
  • Classification, Clustering and Change Detection

We think this should be a really rewarding day with a broad coverage and introduction to several important issues as well as many topics of interest to a wide audience of researchers and practitioners.
