The German Society for Online Research (D.G.O.F.) tends to support activities that advance and improve quality of online research and Internet science. It also helps manifestating Internet-based methods and establishing international contacts.

Activities of the society include supporting book and journal editions, creation and support of academic divisions, cooperation with other organizations and others. D.G.O.F. organizes several workshops and other events, including co-hosting of German Online Research Conferences (GOR).
