Natalie Sappleton

Natalie is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management. Her first engagement with research was in 2005 as a part-time Research Assistant at Salford University. The project was an ESF funded project entitled Women in North West Engineering. In 2006, Natalie and her colleagues were awarded follow-on ESF funding to establish a research project examining women’s under representation in Sound Engineering (the Women in Audio Visual Engineering project). The following year, she became a full-time Research Fellow at MMU (Maternity Cover) on the Managing Maternity project, and in 2008 she enrolled as a PhD student at MMU, having won an ESRC studentship. In 2008-09, Natalie won an AHRC award to become a Fellow at the Kluge Centre, Library of Congress, Washington D.C., before her appointment to full-time Lecturer in Management at MMU in 2012.
