PROF. DR. Corrinna Kleinert

Since January 2015, Prof. Dr. Corinna Kleinert is professor for sociology with special focus of longitudinal education research at the University of Bamberg and at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi). After her graduation in communication sciences at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, she worked from 1995 to 2000 at the German Youth Institute (DJI). In 2003, she received her doctoral degree (Dr. phil.) in sociology, which was funded by a full grant of the LMU Munich. Subsequently she worked as researcher at the LMU Munich, before she took up a post at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg in 2003.

In her research, Corinna Kleinert is working on issues related to school-to-work transitions, labor market research, gender inequality, and survey methodology. She was involved in the development of several large-scale surveys, among them the DJI Youth Survey and the IAB study ALWA (“Working and Learning in a Changing World”). Before she joined the LIfBi, she directed the NEPS research group at the IAB, which is responsible for conducting NEPS stage 8 ‘Adult Education and Lifelong Learning’.
