Blog of the month, September 2012: Interesting Method of Getting Survey Results.

Oct 26 2012

For the blog of the month - September 2012, we have selected the Survey Methods blog and their article Interesting method of getting survey results

Article is maybe the shortest article we have analyzed, since the beginning of our blog analysis. The article explains the new approach in the question presentation in the online surveys.

The Survey Methods team have found the survey, incorporated in the company website (AnswerBag.com). AnswerBlog.com is similar as Yahoo Answers, where users ask certain questions and other users provide the best answer for the question asked. So above all the comments about certain question, there was a survey question (not the original user question) about favorite chocolate for your household, which contained the answers:

  • None
  • Cocoa powder
  • Chips/bits
  • Blocks

Beside that, there was also an option "I don’t know/Show me another question". Only by answering the question, you can see the rest of the comment/answers about the user original question. This is like clicking the add, but is not the add, it is the survey question.

Obviously, this type of research is not ideal, but it is interesting. You can read more views on this topic from the Survey Methods team on their article above.
