Session focus: BLS and Census presenters will share lessons learned and innovative strategies for web design and data collection. Designing web surveys with respondent usability in mind - easy to access, easy to read, understand and complete, plus assurances of data security. Projects include: The US Export Price Index, The US Import Price Index, The Current Employment Statistics Program (CES), and the 2007 Economic Census.

Increasing Web Response Rates Through Prompting
Facilitator: Donna Jewell, RTI International
Session focus: As more studies are using the web for data collection, interests are turning to ways to improve response. E-mails and telephone calls are being used to prompt respondents. The presenters in this session will explain the success of using prompts and the difficulties encountered.
