Dr Karen Wynter is a Research Fellow in the Jean Hailes Research Unit at Monash
University. Her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology (1995) from the University of Cambridge,
UK, examined gender-based differences in Mathematics Anxiety in primary
school children. Her current research combines applied statistics, psychology and
public health, and focuses on social determinants of mental health, particularly in the
perinatal period, as well as the role of support in parenting in the early years.
