NTTS 2013 - call for papers

Oct 17 2012

NTTS (New Techniques and Technologies for Statistics) is a biannual international scientific conference on the impact of new technologies on statistical collection, production and dissemination systems.
The purpose of the conference is to stimulate and facilitate the preparation of new innovative projects, to encourage co-operation and possible building of consortia by researchers with the aim of enhancing the quality and usefulness of official statistics and to prepare activities related to research in statistics within the next European Framework Programme for Research and Development (Horizon 2020).

The NTTS 2013 conference will take place from 5 to 7 March 2013 in Brussels. The Scientific committee welcomes the submission of abstracts within all areas of relevance to the conference.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 31 October 2012. For further details on the conference, please consult the conference website: http://www.ntts2013.eu

For those that have submitted a paper to NTTS, it will also be possible to submit (a possibly revised version of) the same paper to the Journal of Official Statistics, as indicated below.

Special Issue of the Journal of Official Statistics - call for papers

The Journal of Official Statistics and the NTTS 2013 Scientific Committee are pleased to announce that authors of high-quality original papers of the NTTS 2013 conference will have the opportunity to submit their papers for a special issue of the Journal of Official Statistics (JOS) with the tentative theme "New Techniques and Technologies for Official Statistics". The JOS guest editor team for this special issue mainly consists of members of the NTTS 2013 Scientific Committee.

Please note that only papers submitted to and presented at NTTS 2013 (see www.ntts2013.eu) will be considered for this special issue. There will be an initial review and selection by the guest editor team before transmission to JOS. Selected papers will thereafter undergo the regular stringent peer-review process, and a special JOS issue will be published if sufficiently many of the selected papers are accepted for publication.

Submissions and inquiries can be directed to the guest editor team (e-mail: ESTAT-NTTS@ec.europa.eu). The deadline for submissions is 15 April 2013.
